Coming up to my 52nd birthday, I got thinking about the place in which I grew up, Waterville Co. Kerry, and where the family home still remains. In particular, I got to thinking about how the village commercial life has changed over the half century or so of my recall.

1950s and 1960s photos

So on Facebook I recently made public some  photo albums mainly containing photos from the 1950s and 1960s. Most were taken by my father, who was a keen slide photographer. There were, literally, thousands of these lying in boxes in the attic, and a couple of years ago I bit the bullet and got them scanned and cleaned. The ones on Facebook are the pick of the crop.
